Spurrs Inn

Day ones 115km tour departs private property right at the base of the majestic landscape of the Cathederal Ranges.  This stunning range is approx 7km long and 1.5km wide, consisting of sandstone and shale that were laid down over 400 million years ago, forming a long razor sharp ridge that is part of Australia's Great Dividing Range.  Entering the Black Range State Forest the ground has a hard orange coloured base, with a fresh scent of conifer resin seeping from the pine trees from nearby plantations.  We descend alongside Ault Beeac Creek, crossing the main high voltage power lines at Murrindindi.  The terrain makes a shift to a more rocky base, winding our way in and out of some epic gullies, then dropping down into our lunch destination via a few pine plantations.  We enter a friends private farm directly into some of his own personal trails, its here we burn the last of energy before heading to his house for an amazing cooked lunch and a cheeky chocolate browny.

After a quick refuel of body and bike, we roll out crossing the Acheron river where u may be lucky enough to spot a decent trout.  Entering into the Triangle, we head up some faster paced 4WD trails with dirt that you just cant help but roost at your mates!  As we get up higher in elevation peaking just over 1000m above sea level, the ridge lines have 360 degree views of the mountain ranges of the various surrounding State forests.  We have different options for the decent based on rider skill level, but remember what goes up must come down :)  The decent from Mt Strickland is distracting, natures beauty steels your concentration as you wind down the range the sun creating a display of light and shadows through the massive trees.  We complete the decent via a few old logged sections of the forrest, directly into our Bunkhouse buried in the woods.  A warm shower and fresh clothes, followed by the wood fire and a few locally brewed beers straight from the tap.  We let you select a meal of your liking from the bar menu and settle into a few games of pool and chew the fat of fun stories from the days adventure.

Day 2: After a good night sleep in a shared bunk room, we kick you into gear with a nice coffee and fully cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash brown and tomato.  The return trip takes a different route of similar terrain coving 80km of sensational riding before returning in the early afternoon, where you are spoilt by several kms of front on view of the Cathederal Ranges.  Arriving back to our destination in good time, Wizza will have prepared a cooked lunch and salad giving you something good to eat before making your way home.

WHAT IS PROVIDED:

- Accommodation at the Black Spur Inn (shared bunk room)

- All linen (Includes towel, and bedding)

- All Meals,  Saturday:  Snacks for backpack, cooked lunch,  dinner from the set pub menu. Sunday: Snacks for backpacks, cooked breakfast with tea coffee, cooked lunch on arrival back at Taggerty;

- Includes Soft drink and water with lunches;

- Puncture repairs and mechanical support;

- Support vehicle and trailer, with spare parts, tools, spare hire bike, full first aid kit;

- 3 x Support riders

- Fuel after the first tank, including 2 stroke oil (Motul)

WHAT YOU NEED:

- Hold a current motorcycle license;

- Motorcycle must have minimum of Recreational registration;

- Check motorcycle is in good working order;

- Dirtbike with full tank of fuel;

- Small Overnight bag (Not a gear bag), change of clothes for evening, toiletries, dry sox, jersey and pants for day 2, this bag will go in the support vehicle;

- Wallet or money for drinks at bar, or to purchase merchandise from us;

- Hydration pack;

- Have read and agree to out Terms and Conditions;

- A good attitude :)
