ABOUT THE TRIP:
Day 1: Enochs Point - A Glimpse into Gold Rush History
Our adventure begins from our home base in Alexandra Vic. Â From here we set out through the black range state forrest and into the picturesque town of Marysville. After a thrilling morning ride, we pause here for a well-deserved lunch break. This charming town is nestled in the heart of Victoria's lush forests and is known for its stunning scenery. Marysville is an oasis of tranquility, surrounded by towering mountain ranges and dense eucalyptus forests. The perfect start to an adventure that will take you deeper into the natural wonders of the region.
After replenishing ourselves in Marysville, we venture further into the Big River State Forest, a place of rich history and raw wilderness. Our first campsite, Enochs Point, is a hidden gem. This historic gold rush township, located 47 km from Eildon, is steeped in fascinating tales of the past. Enochs Point was named after an illiterate prospector named 'Enoch,' who, in the 1850s, may have been the first to discover gold in the area. Despite his discovery, he never claimed his find due to his inability to read or write. Enochs Point is a glimpse into the rugged life of early prospectors and the resilience that shaped the region.
Day 2: Jamieson and Goughs Bay - Nature's Abundance
Our adventure continues as we ride through the scenic wonderland of Jamieson, a place where history meets natural beauty. After exploring this charming township indulging in a delightful lunch and maybe flicking a lure in the river, we head towards Goughs Bay. Here, you'll camp on the serene banks of Lake Eildon, surrounded by pristine nature and the starlit canopy above. The campfire's warmth and the tranquil sounds of the water will be a reminder of the simple joys of outdoor living.
Day 3: Bonne Doon Pub and Epic Views
On our final day, we embark on a journey homeward. Before bidding farewell to the wilderness, we make a pit stop at the iconic Bonne Doon Pub for a hearty lunch. It's a place that encapsulates the laid-back Australian spirit, and you'll cherish the memories made here. On our journey, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Lake Eildon, a majestic sight that will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
Our Adventure Motorcycle Camping Tour is more than just a ride; it's a chance to connect with the natural world, discover hidden histories, and make lifelong memories. Join us for this unforgettable experience, and let the wonders of the outdoors take your breath away.
